Mobile Gear repair at Bluebird Backcountry
Back in March we had the opportunity to operate as a mobile gear repair vendor for Bluebird Backcountry’s 3rd Annual Gear Fest. It was an amazing event, with over 15 vendors at Colorado’s only dedicated backcountry mountain. This was our first mobile gear repair event, and to have it in a remote area, we knew that power for the sewing machine would be a concern. Luckily, we have an EcoFlow River Pro Battery Pack and 160w Solar Panel. This powerhouse of a system allowed us to bring in more power from the sun than we were putting out to the machine. We essentially powered our Singer Heavy Duty 6800c directly by the sun. That felt amazing, considering our mission to be as net zero as we can.
Throughout the day we fixed a lot of torn jackets and pants. But we also fixed a dog jacket, some torn gloves, and even made a custom helmet holder for someone’s backpack. the whole event had such a great vibe, and everyone was so appreciative of the work we were doing. We even sold a couple of our Waste Baskets for people to use for their pet waste on the mountain. Dogs are allowed on the mountain, we love that, and are so happy that owners are doing their part to clean up after their pups, so everyone has good clean fun on the mountain.
It was an amazing experience, and we thank the crew from Bluebird Backcountry so much for having us up there, and are looking forward to doing this again in the 2023-2024 season!
